How the referral program works

A plain-English summary of what you earn, when you earn it, and how it gets paid.

Who can earn

Active AIST Safety Consulting clients who have been on a paid plan for at least three months can refer other motor carriers and earn a reward when those carriers sign up and stay with us.

How much you earn

The reward depends on which plan the carrier you refer signs up for:

If your referred carrier upgrades or changes plans later, the reward is based on their plan at the time they qualify.

When you earn it

A referral becomes qualified — meaning your reward is ready to claim — once the carrier you referred has paid the required number of invoices in full and is still active with us:

  • Weekly plans: 13 invoices paid (about 3 months)
  • Monthly plans: 5 invoices paid (about 5 months)

You'll see your referral move through these states in your portal: SignedPayingQualifiedPaid out.

How you get paid

When a referral hits qualified status, you choose how you'd like to be paid:

  • Account credit applied to a future AIST invoice. No paperwork, fastest to process.
  • Cash payout by check. Requires a completed IRS Form W-9 on file. We're required to issue a 1099-MISC if your total cash payouts to you reach $600 or more in a calendar year.

You're paid in full at qualification — not in pieces over time. To stay eligible for payout, you also need to still be an active AIST client when we process it.

What can pause or void a reward

A few situations can affect your reward:

  • If the carrier you referred disputes a charge or has a chargeback during the qualification window, that referral goes on hold until the dispute resolves.
  • If they cancel before reaching qualification, the referral closes as ended service and no reward is owed.
  • Self-referrals (referring another business under the same ownership) earn account credit only, not cash.
  • If we determine a referral was gamed (e.g., signing up under another name to claim a reward, splitting one carrier into multiple to claim more), we may decline the reward.

Sharing your link

You'll find your referral link and code in your portal. You can share it however you like — text, email, social, in person. We just ask that you don't:

  • Misrepresent AIST or our services
  • Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam)
  • Run paid ads using the AIST name without our permission

Privacy

When someone uses your referral link and submits their info, we use it only to follow up about AIST services. We don't share your contact information with the carrier you referred unless you ask us to. Our full privacy policy is at aistsafety.com/privacy-policy.

Changes to the program

We may adjust reward amounts, qualification requirements, or close the program in the future. If we do, any referrals already submitted before the change will be honored under the rules in effect at the time they were submitted. We'll let active participants know about material changes by email.

If you're not sure whether something counts, just ask your account manager before referring. We'd rather sort it out up front than after the fact. For payout-related questions (W-9, 1099, payment method), email billing@aistsafety.com.
